Responsible Play

Good play fits into the day you intended to have. Decide how much time and attention you want to give a game before you open it. A daily reward, unfinished task or limited-time event is never a reason to ignore your own boundaries.

Set a small, firm time budget

Choose a finishing time that leaves room for work, study, meals, sleep and the people around you. Set an alarm outside the game and stop when it rings. If a game cannot pause, allow enough time to leave the current activity without starting another one. A shorter session is a valid choice.

Check in after 45 minutes

Use 45 minutes as a practical reminder to step away from the screen, change position and take a short physical break that suits your mobility. Get a drink, stretch comfortably or move around. Take breaks sooner when you need them; a reminder is not a target to reach.

This 45-minute check-in is a directory suggestion, not a medical prescription. The NHS recommends reducing long periods of sitting and building activity into everyday life. Follow individual advice from a qualified professional if you have a condition that affects activity or screen use.

Keep play separate from routines

Put essential tasks before a game session. Keep meals, conversations and bedtime free from simultaneous play where you can. Turn off promotional notifications and avoid organising your day around streaks or timers. Plan another activity for the point when you stop.

Decide spending boundaries in advance

Read the publisher's current purchase information. A free-to-start game may offer optional items, boosts or subscriptions. Set a limit you can comfortably afford, use available account controls and do not borrow to continue playing. Treat virtual currency as entertainment spending, not an investment or a route to financial gain.

Notice when the balance changes

Pay attention if attempts to stop repeatedly fail, spending becomes difficult to control, or gaming begins to displace sleep, relationships or responsibilities. Pause and talk to someone you trust. For support, speak with your GP or read the National Centre for Gaming Disorders' information about help available in England. This directory is not a treatment or emergency service.

What the label means

Source review, clearly defined.

“Publisher source checked” means the linked public information was reviewed to identify the title, its advertised format and its destination. Sources were reviewed on 14 September 2026.

It is not a hands-on gameplay rating, a security certification, an uptime promise or Google Ads approval. Availability, costs and terms remain under the publisher’s control.
